The History of the Stone
It takes its name from the Latin "Jaspidem" which means "speckled stone" because the first varieties of Jasper discovered had dark spots.
THE Egyptians used it for fertilization and was associated with Isis. They made decorative objects, sculptures or amulets in the shape of scarabs to symbolize eternal life and placed talismans around the necks of the deceased to facilitate their journey to the afterlife
