The History of the Stone
The History of the Stone
It gets its name from the Greek "onyx," meaning "claw." The white layers form curved patterns that resemble the shape of a fingernail.
One of the many legends of this Stone is that it was born from one of Aphrodite's claws. One day, for fun, the young Cupid cut the sleeping goddess's nail with one of his arrows. When the nail touched the ground, it turned into Onyx.
