The History of the Stone
Its name comes from the Greek "corneolus" which refers to the fruits that grow on dogwood trees: cornelian cherries.
In ancient Egypt Isis used it to accompany the deceased in their passage to the afterlife. It was present on sacred headdresses as well as Lapis Lazuli. Its color evokes the sunset and in ancient Egypt the God of the Sun holds a very important place.
